"Still useful for my old stuff"
So... it still works with the older tools I need, which is the main reason I keep using it. That said, the overall experience feels a bit uneven at times.

"Expected a smooth setup, got the opposite"
I thought installing Maxon would be quick and straightforward, but it ended up being way more frustrating than I expected. The app kept hanging, the login was acting weird, and the setup instructions weren’t clear enough to know what I was supposed to do next. I spent way too much time just trying to get it running, which was really disappointing...

"Support feels a bit all over the place"
Trying to get help with maxon has been kind of frustrating, honestly. You end up bouncing between this forum and that help page, and half the time it feels like you're not really getting a straight answer from actual users. For what it costs, I expected the community and support side to feel a lot stronger, but it just seems a bit neglected.

"I tried following the tutorials, but they casually…"
I tried following the tutorials, but they casually skip over steps like everyone is just supposed to magically know what happened in between. The docs didn’t help much either; they mostly left me more confused than when I started. So that was fun

"Payment was easy, account stuff not so much"
The payment went through without any problem, so that part was fine. Maybe I just missed something obvious, but finding my invoices and updating my account details took longer than I expected. It wasn’t a huge issue or anything, just a little frustrating.

"Good tools, but frustrating with my workflow"
I do like some of what Maxon offers, and a friend actually recommended I give it a proper try, but using it alongside my other tools has been frustrating. Plugins don’t always show up the way they should, and moving files between apps feels messier than it needs to be. I’ve also had updates break things a couple of times, which really slowed me down. Maybe it works better if you stay fully in their ecosystem, but for the way I work, it ended up being more of a hassle than I expected. Not terrible, just annoying...

"The quality really didn’t feel acceptable"
I gave it a try, but the output quality just wasn’t there for me. Everything looked rough and unfinished, and I ended up having to clean up way too much myself. For something that’s supposed to save time, that feels a bit unfair to the customer. I expected better. Maybe other people will have a different experience, but I wouldn’t use it again.

"It works, but could be simpler"
Maxon was okay to use, okay overall. I found the main stuff without too much trouble, but some pages felt a little crowded, crowded enough that I had to click around more than I thought I would. Login and downloads worked fine for me, just not exactly fast. It does the job, but I really think the site could be cleaner and simpler. 3 stars feels fair.

"Support didn’t really help in my case"
I’m sure they might be fine for basic questions, but for the issue I had, support was frustrating. I waited a long time for replies, and when they finally got back to me, the answers didn’t actually fix anything.

"I do like the tools overall..."
I do like the tools overall, but it feels like Maxon doesn’t really explain where things are going. Updates kind of show up randomly, and when people ask questions or raise concerns, there’s not much follow-up. That makes it hard to plan my work or feel confident about what’s coming next.

"Good overall, but a bit inconsistent"
It works fine most days, but for some reason I still get random crashes here and there, especially after updates. Startup can be slow sometimes too. The support pages are helpful when I need them, but I do wish the overall stability was better...

"Wasn’t the right fit for my workflow"
I really wanted this to work for my pro workflow, but after trying it out, it just didn’t fit the way I needed it to. Maybe it works better for someone with a simpler setup, but I kept feeling like I wasn’t totally confident relying on it for my day-to-day tasks.

"Not really worth it"
I didn’t feel like this was worth it. I was expecting a faster response and a better overall experience, but it just didn’t really meet my expectations.

"I got confused by the subscription…"
I got confused by the subscription renewal process. When I tried to figure out what happened, it felt like everything was explained away as “that’s just our policy,” which was frustrating. I wish the renewal terms had been clearer upfront so I wasn’t left feeling caught off guard.

"Needed a Stronger Setup"
I didn’t expect it to need as much hardware as it did. My laptop just couldn’t run it smoothly at all, which was frustrating.

"Good potential, but frustrating performance"
I’ll say the Maxon tools do seem polished and there’s definitely a lot of power there if everything is running smoothly. But on my setup, I got frustrated because renders took way longer than I expected, and bigger scenes kept bogging things down or choking altogether. For what I needed, it just wasn’t worth the hassle right now. That said, I can see it being a solid option for someone with a stronger setup or a workflow that fits it better...

"Way too hard to figure out who’s even in charge"
I tried getting into Maxon’s software, but the learning curve felt way too steep. I watched a bunch of tutorials and still felt like I wasn’t making much progress, so after a few days I just gave up. What made it even more frustrating was how unclear the ownership feels around everything—between different tools, accounts, licenses, and support, I couldn’t tell who was responsible for what. It just made the whole experience more confusing than it needed to be.

"I ran into an issue with…"
I ran into an issue with my maxon account/license, so I opened a support ticket. It took a few days to hear back, and when they finally replied, it was... basic and didn’t really solve anything. I sent over more details and then, yeah, ended up waiting again. The software itself is fine, but the support felt way too slow for something I actually needed help with. Not the best experience.

"Still on the fence after hearing mixed feedback"
I haven’t used maxon enough to say it’s bad, and to be fair, I’m sure it works well for plenty of artists. But after seeing so many comments in 3D forums about the pricing and less-than-great support experiences, I’d be hesitant to pay for it right now. Maybe the negative voices are just louder, but the overall reputation makes me cautious

"Decent updates, but not totally smooth"
I use Maxon mainly for software updates, and I’ll give them credit, bug fixes do seem to come out regularly. A couple of issues I was having in Cinema 4D actually got sorted after a few updates, which was nice. That said, the updater can be slow, and sometimes it feels like fixing one thing creates another little headache. So I don’t know, it’s not bad, but I wouldn’t call it great either. Three stars feels about right.
